Welcome to DawaSnap AI, your personal digital pharmacy manager and medication safety companion. Safely track expiration dates, scan blister packages and bottles using AI camera vision, receive automated email warnings, and check dangerous drug-drug interactions.

1. Adding Medications via AI Camera Scanning

DawaSnap AI features an advanced hybrid computer vision and optical character recognition (OCR) engine tailored for medicine packaging:

Foil Blister Packs: Position the foil side under lighting at a 45-degree angle. Our in-memory pre-processor automatically applies an adaptive contrast filter to eliminate shiny foil glare and detect embossed expiration dates (EXP, BB, or B.No).
Bottles & Cartons: Align the trade name label inside the viewfinder rectangle so the brand name (e.g. Augmentin 625, Calpol 250) and bottle volume (100ml) are clearly captured.
Automatic Extraction: The camera detects the medicine brand name, dosage strength (e.g. 500mg), standardized expiration date (YYYY-MM-01), and pack quantity (via packaging analysis).
100% Offline Capability: If you are offline, scanning falls back to client-side Tesseract.js (Wasm) and our on-device Small Language Model without requiring any cloud connection.

2. Manual Medicine Entry & Dosage Forms

If your package label is damaged or you prefer manual entry, tap + Add Medicine on the home view:

Clinical Autocomplete: Type the first few letters of the trade or generic name. The app queries a built-in compendium of 150+ standard formulations.
Select Dosage Form:

Specify the remaining count and set the manufacturer expiration date.
Configure custom Low-Stock Alert thresholds and email alert toggles.

3. FIFO Batch Management & Vault Navigation

When you purchase multiple strips of the same medication over time with different expiry dates, DawaSnap AI groups them under a single unified card:

First-In, First-Out (FIFO): The card displays the nearest expiring batch first so you know which one to finish first.
Quick Deduct (-1 Button): Tapping the minus button deducts from the nearest expiring batch automatically.
Category Filters: Filter your vault by clinical category: Heart, Pain Relief, Antibiotics, Diabetes, Vitamins, Digestive, Allergy, Respiratory, Mental Health, Skin Care, or Eye & Ear.

4. Multi-Stage Expiration Alerts & Safe Chemical Disposal

Never let medicines expire unnoticed in your medicine cabinet. An automated 24/7 server cron delivers multi-stage email notifications:

Stage 1: 1 Month Notice

Dispatched 30–31 days before expiration. Gives advance notice to plan refills or book doctor renewals.

Stage 2: 7 Days Warning

Dispatched exactly 7 days before expiry. Urgent alert to finish therapy or obtain fresh stock.

Stage 3: Expired Advisory

Dispatched on or immediately after expiry. DO NOT CONSUME. Includes safe disposal steps.

        Safe Chemical Disposal Guidelines:

        Never flush expired antibiotics or hormones down household sinks or toilets. Participate in pharmacy take-back drop-off programs, or mix unwanted pills with coffee grounds or soil in a sealed pouch before household trash disposal.

5. Scheduled Expiry & Dose Notifications

DawaSnap AI delivers timely medication alerts on Android and modern web browsers without requiring restricted exact alarm permissions:

Multi-Stage Expiration Alerts: Automatic alerts are scheduled on your device at 30 days before expiration, 7 days before expiration, and on the expiration day itself.
Battery Optimization Advice: To prevent phone battery savers from delaying notifications, go to your phone's Settings → Apps → DawaSnap AI → Battery → Select "Unrestricted".

6. Drug-Drug Interaction Checker

When you have 2 or more active medications in your vault, open the Assistant tab and select Check Interactions:

Clinical Severity Ratings: Evaluates potential conflicts as 🟢 Low, 🟡 Moderate, or 🔴 High severity.
Mechanism & Advice: Explains competing liver enzymes, increased bleeding risks, or additive sedation effects, with clear points to review with your doctor.

7. AI Pharmacist ("Dr. DawaSnap")

Your interactive family-doctor-style companion is available 24/7 in the Assistant tab:

Vault Awareness: When you ask for remedies (e.g. "What painkillers do I have?"), Dr. DawaSnap scans your actual medicine inventory first.
Hinglish Language Support: Speaks and understands conversational Hinglish (e.g. "Aapko ye Paracetamol khana khane ke baad leni hai").
Digital Consultation Reports: Tap Send Consultation Report to receive a formatted summary of your chat and current medications delivered directly to your verified email.

8. Data Privacy, Local Storage & Account Deletion

Zero Remote Photos: Camera images saved in your vault are stored 100% locally in your physical device's sandboxed IndexedDB memory and are NEVER uploaded to cloud storage buckets.
Soft Delete (15-Day Trash): Deleted medicines remain in Recently Deleted for 15 days so you can restore accidental deletions before permanent destruction.
Permanent Account Deletion: In compliance with Google Play Store Policies and the India DPDP Act 2023, you can permanently wipe all your data at any time via in-app Settings or via our public Account Deletion Portal (https://dawasnap.vercel.app/delete-account).
